Mid-Acts Questions

02/06/2024

Understanding the Bible from a Mid-Acts Dispensational view point has given me the opportunity to answer many questions concerning the Bible from that perspective.

The following are just a few of the questions I’ve been asked and my answers, more will be added as time goes on.

Question:

Why do I say that our Grace Gospel is not found in the four gospels of Matthew, Mark Luke and John?

Answer:

First of all, I absolutely accept as Scripture all the teachings of the four gospels.  Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are part of the Bible just as are the other 62 books are.

I believe…  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (2Timothy 3:16)

Sometimes asking questions helps the questioner to better understand and prepare them for the answer.  So, before I answer the question of my understanding of those four Gospels, I want to ask a few questions and have you answer them according to what the Scriptures says, not what you have been told they say.

  1. Who were the four gospels written to, and who was the audience?
  2. What was being taught in the four gospels?
  3. Who was the primary speaker?

If you are like me, you were told that the four gospels were all about you and I, that Jesus was talking to you, to us, in the church, the Body of Christ.  That is the premise I want to address in answering these questions.

Please read the following verses, and remember, in order to study Scripture, we must read it in its literal, natural and simplest form.  Words mean things!!

Matthew 3:1-2

Matthew 4:17

Matthew 5:17

Matthew 6:9-13 (note verses 10 & 13)

Matthew 9:35

Matthew 10:5-7

As you read the above passages in Matthew, who did Jesus send his 12 apostles to? (vs,6)

Who did he NOT SEND THEM TO US? (vs, 5)

In all the above verses, Jesus is speaking of the prophesied earthly Kingdom that God had promised Israel.  All the Prophets beginning with Abraham prophesied of this future earthly Kingdom.

Jesus also taught in parables and as you will see, the parables are all about the prophesied, promised earthly Kingdom that is currently in heaven and will one day come down from to heaven to earth.  (Revelation 21:1-2).

Look at the following...

Matthew 13:11 – In verse 11 Jesus answers the question asked by the Apostles in verse 10 – Jesus himself tells us the parables are all about the Kingdom.

Read these verses Matthew 13:31, 33, 44, 45, and 47

Matthew 15:21-28 - This is the conversation Jesus had with the Syrophoenician women, a gentile or better as Jesus Himself alluded to a “dog”.

Jesus healed her daughter not because she believed in his death, burial and resurrection, but because she understood who He was, the Lord, the son of David and she as a gentile knew her position as subservient to Israel.

This is one of only two Gentiles Jesus had any dealings with.

Matthew 19:28-29 – The Apostles will be judging the 12 tribes of Israel, they are not and will not be a part of the church, the Body of Christ.

Matthew 20:1

Matthew 22:1-2

Matthew 24:1-14 Jesus begins what we call the Olivet Discourse, where Jesus is explaining the Tribulation.

Look at verse 13 and ask yourself, “how does one get saved during the tribulation?  Answer… Jesus said “endure to the end” If we were to be saved by the Grace Gospel during the tribulation, do you not think Jesus would have said that?  Words mean things!

Matthew 25:1-13 – Why did Jesus tell the 5 foolish virgins that “he knew them not”?  It’s because they had to have “bought” oil.  During the Tribulation in order to buy and sell, you would have to take the “mark of the Beast”.  In other words, they did not “endure” God’s teachings, to the end.  They accepted the mark and lost their place in the Kingdom.

Matthew 25:31-34

Matthew 28:16-20 – This is our “so called” great commission, but if you are honest with the entire text of Matthew, what did Jesus “command” his disciples to teach all nations?

If you are honest with the text, there is only one answer, The Kingdom.

Don’t take my word for it STUDY THE SCRIPTURES, words mean things!

You see Jesus in the gospel of Matthew, just as in the other gospels, was teaching Israel all about the coming prophesied, promised earthly Kingdom.   I know that that is not what we have been taught, but it is what the Scripture says!
